Banksy's version of Paris CD: Collectors Item

British Guerilla artist Banksy made headlines in Britain last week after replacing 500 copies of Paris Hilton's new 'Album' with doctored versions.

Now that word has gotten around about the CD's they have become highly sought after, with examples in perfect condition fetching more than US$1,500 each on eBay.

Banksy has so far managed to remain anonymous and, given that his works of art are generally one-offs, prices for originals are continually soaring with even replicas of some of his stencil art selling for more than 50 British Pounds.

Peter Brock killed in racing crash

Australian racing legend Peter Brock was killed earlier today in a crash during a leg of the Targa West rally in Western Austrlia.
Brock was killed when he lost control and his Daytona Coupe struck a tree. His co-driver Mick Hone was also badly injured.
Brock was a nine time winner of the Bathurst 1000.
My commiserations go out to his family and I want to reiterate my respect for the man who was the face of racing during my childhood.

Nepalese boy loses bid for world record

The nepalese boy on the left, Khagendra Thapa Magar, was rejected by the Guinness World Records council in his bid to be recognized as the world's shortest man.
Guinness says that in order for him to qualify as the world's shortest man he must be over 18 years old.
Khagendra Thapa Magar is just 50cm tall and weighs in at only 4.5Kg! The boy is only 14 and has been making public appearances for money in an attempt to fund his education.
The current record is held by Jordanian man, Younis Edwan, who is 65cm tall.

Wisest man in universe a Ninja?

Well seeing as it's a slow news day I thought I might re-visit an old friend... The ninja.
Mr. Ninja is the wisest man I have ever met. I consider it a priveledge to have met him and LIVED!

British artist performs public service for us all

British Guerilla artist "Banksy" has replaced hundred of copies of Paris Hilton's new 'Album' with a doctored version and then smuggled them into British record stores!

The doctored versions feature several key improvements over the original version:
Paris graces the cover topless, The singles list asks important questions like "What am I doing here?, Why am I famous?" and best of all the included CD does not actually contain any music by Paris Hilton!
The artist on the CD is only known as DM and depsite being completely unheard has still managed to outdo Paris on the British charts...
To Banksy: Thank-you for a much need respite!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's Baby UGLEEE!

By any sane process of logical deduction you would assume that the child of Hollywood stars Katie Holmes and Tom cruise would be fairly good looking.. right?
Well, you be the judge. The baby pictured to the left is a girl!
With a head of hair somewhat resembling an Appalaichan Mountain Goat and that pudgy little face you could be forgiven for crooning "awww.... what a cute little boy"... well... guess again!
Oh well... even though baby Suri may be visually challenged she can still look foward to a life of priveledge and comfort thanks to her well-to-do parents.

While this blogger apparently stepped over the line with the funny story about Steve Irwin, others have decided that 2 days is long enough and the prank emails have begun.
Reports from others so far show that my prank has so far both been the funniest and in the best taste. So in short.. knockers beware! The aussie way is to make light of EVERYTHING and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Jessica Simpson In Love With John Mayer?!?

Apparently John Mayer has won the heart of Ultra-Blonde Popstar Jessica Simpson.
How John Mayer could be so lacking in taste is beyond my mental capacity but if they are truly in love then good luck to them!
Sources indicate that John Mayer may be a previously undiagnosed Deaf-Mute but confirmation is not yet forthcoming.

New Sony Ultra Mobile PC

How's this for cool? The new Sony UMPC features an Intel Core Solo 1.2GHz Processor with 512Mb RAM and runs a full version of Windows XP! When looking at it you need to remember that the screen is only 4.5" Diagonally so that means the whole unit is nearly as compact as some Smartphones!
Features inlcude GPRS Modem, WIFI, Bluetooth, Fingerprint reader and TWO cameras!
Reviews so far look very promising but at around AU$2,500 I think I may have to wait a while!

Trouble for Apple?

Major computer manufacturer Apple has announced that it will be recalling more than 8 Million Laptop batteries which pose a potential safety hazard.
A small percentage of the lithium-ion batteries, which were manufactured and supplied by Sony, are reportedly faulty and can catch on fire or explode without warning.
This recall and another like it by Dell are forcing airlines world-wide to make a move to ban the offending hardware from being brought on board their airplanes in case a defective battery causes a fire in the cabin or baggage comparment.

Steve Irwin killed in freak accident

A deluge of emails have circled the globe regarding the death of famous Australian TV presenter and wildlife champion Steve Irwin.
Steve was impaled through the chest by a Sting-ray while filming an underwater documentary in Queensland. Mr Irwin's body has been flown to Cairns this morning.
Irwin's American born wife, Terri, is currently trekking through cradle mountain in Tasmania and has not yet been told of her husband's death.
